Question by Jessica: Will this be a good recipe for tomato sauce?
I have Canned crushed tomatoes, jar of tomato sauce, pasta seasoning, garlic, garlic powder. How much do I put in of each if these are good ingredients?
and I have onions, but I don’t like onions in my pasta, could I just take the skin off the onion and Cut it in half and cook it with the sauce and then take it out once the sauce is done

depends whats in the pasta seasoning.
and get an onion.

heres what i’d do…..

Ingredients:
Olive Oil
1 medium onion, minced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon each dried oregano, basil and thyme
salt and pepper
1 can crushed tomatoes
1 jar tomato sauce

Directions:
Saute onion and garlic in olive oil until soft. (Do not brown) Crush dried herbs in you hand and add to onion and garlic. Add salt and pepper to taste. Saute 3 or 4 minutes to incorporate flavors. Add crushed tomatoes and sauce. Heat through.

  1. HOME MADE PASTA SAUCE
    In a LARGE pot put
    *oregano,
    *hot crushed pepper,
    *lots of garlic,
    *basil,
    2 chopped onions,–can omitt–
    3 bay leaves,
    6 links hot or mild Italian sausage sliced into rounds, brown the sausage,with all the seasonings, maybe 20 minutes or so!
    * = all to taste

    Add 4 large cans of crushed tomatoes,
    4 large cans of tomato sauce,
    1 large can of tomato paste,
    10 ozs sliced mushrooms
    add 4 to 6 chicken breasts and 4 to 6 thick pork cutlets
    Simmer the sauce for about 3 to 4 hours
    put into containers and freeze.

    Yield: 30 ounces

    1 cn Tomatoes (28 oz)
    1 sl Onion
    2 Cloves
    ds Black pepper
    ds Salt
    2 T Butter
    1 T Flour

    In saucepan, cook tomatoes with onion, cloves, pepper and salt 20 minutes. Remove onion and cloves. Push tomato through strainer with back of wooden spoon, or puree in food processor.

    Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in flour and continue stirring until
    golden and frothing. Stir in tomato pulp and bring to boil. Keep warm until ready to serve.

    BASIC VEGETARIAN TOMATO SAUCE

    Amount Measure Ingredient — Preparation Method

    1 Carrot
    1 Celery stalk
    1 tb Chopped parsley
    5 Basil leaves
    1/3 c Olive oil
    35 oz Drained canned plum tomatoes

    Freshly ground black pepper

    You can substitute fresh tomatoes in this recipe.
    Remember 1 pound of fresh equals 1 cup of canned.
    FINELY CHOP TOGETHER the carrot, celery,
    parsley and basil, or pulse them in a food processor.
    Warm the olive oil in a large skillet. Saute the
    chopped vegetables for 10 minutes, stirring often.
    Puree the tomatoes through a food mill into the pan.
    Add the salt and several grindings of pepper. Bring to
    a simmer and cook, partly covered, over very low heat,
    for 2 hours. Pass the finished sauce through the
    medium blade of the food mill. Makes 3 Cups
