Question by dlsmith0622: Why are my tomato plants staining my hand when I touch them ?
Whenever I handle my tomato plants my hands are stained orange and green. What the heck is going on ? They are growing pretty well and are producing huge fruit and some have ripened. There doesnt seem to be much a problem health wise with the plants

The staining is just the nature of the plant, as long as you thoroughly wash your hands following working in the tomatoes. The plant itself is poisonous.

  1. Great video, would you do the same for any other plants? I’m growing chilli and sweet peppers, basil and parsley too at the moment.

  2. I think it’s a bush hanging basket one so just leave it and don’t pinch out.

  3. thanks mate, do you know if Red Alert is a Cordon or a Bush? lol

  4. If it’s a bush variety you leave all the side shoots on,but cordon varieties you take them all off.
