Question by Kacie Sometimes: Can you dig up tomato plants and relocate them If they arent growing?
Our maintenance man prematurely planted our tomato plants about 3 weeks ago. He didn’t plant them in the sun.. So they are alive, but are not growing. Can we dig them up and relocate them ASAP without harming them?

You can. If the plants are moved, you have to make sure not to destroy the roots. If you are not sure if the roots are okay, plant the stalk underground so the root system can get started again.

Thanks for subbing. I use garden soil. I dont have an exact recipe. I use what is on sale and lots of peat moss mixed with the soils I buy. Im trying to think about how it fills. A 2 cubic foot bag with some amendments fills 2 5 gallon containers I believe. I never really paid attention. Sorry.
A couple of questions about the soil. First are you using Garden or Potting soil? Secondly how much soil does it take to fill the container, in cubic feet please? Thanks and like Greenthumb Patriot I subscribed after taking a look at your video on your grow light. Awesome!
Thanks so much! Good luck with your garden
wow really glad i found this channel! SUBBED! i will be tuned 😉
That is good information. I might hang it on my site so people know.
If you are going to buy a container might as well be food grade I read this. The quickest and most reliable way to check for food safety is by consulting the recycling number. This number will be between 1 and 7 and will be stamped inside a triangle of arrows. As a general rule, the numbers that are safe for use with food are 1, 2, 4, and 5.
Nice
Thank you sir. Perfect timing.
Great video! Very informative. Thank you so much for sharing!
Excellent. Enjoy the planting insanity.
They really work. I use 5 gallon containers and watering is an issue. The 18 gallon is nice in that it hold a lot of moisture.
They are starting to go in. Slowly but surely. Another ridiculous frost front coming in on the weekend.
thanks Gary! a question would peat humus work for peat moss?
I love that silver fur tomato, its so cool! Especially the leaves!

hey hey! I am super glad to see you planting some nice healthy plants again! Those tomatoes are nice and sturdy and healthy! congrats!
Dig deep holes and fill them with water, removed your tomatoes with the roots and plant them in the watered hole. This will help the roots to recover themselves. Tomatoes love sunny spots. Good luck!
