couldn’t you just make a marinara sauce out of it? Use to to make spaghetti or lasagna.
Couscous; heat the tomato to boiling point. Add the appropriate quantity to the boiling tomato (it will specify how much on the packet), remove from the heat, cover and leave for up to 30 minutes for the couscous to swell.
Add a touch of garlic salt, pepper. This is a marvellous accompaniment to other dishes and can be served cold with salads or hot instead of rice, pasta or potato.
Make a marinara sauce with the puree. Add diced onions, garlic and seasonings, saute the onions and garlic first. Add oregano and basil and use the sauce for lasagna or pasta of some sort. Not sure when you say a huge can, how many ounces. You could possible make some type of tomato bisque soup (cream with tomato) using crab or shrimp.
Chili would be my option! Brown up some ground beef, chopped onions. When beef is done, add a minced clove or two of garlic, the tomato puree and cook until heated thru…then add kidney beans and some old bay seasoning (or chili powder). And if you need more juice, add tomato juice. YUMMY and EASY!!
Perhaps have a spaghetti party for your friends.
Sauce can be made as follows:
Pour contents of the can into a pot and turn heat on low, Add about 1/2 cup of olive oil, 1
tbsp of dry or 2 tablespoons of fresh chopped basil,
3 cloves of crushed or minced garlic
1 tsp salt
Diced onions if desired
1/4 cup sugar (sauce will be tart without this)
Simmer all this for abou 30 minutes. Serve over spaghetti with fresh grated parmesan
make large pot of chili or spaghetti sauce
