Question by kcowger24: Need a good beef casserole recipe that doesnt require cheese?
Im looking for a good recipe for ground beef and maybe noodles or mashed potatoes or something that doesnt require cheese- my husband is lactose intolerant, and that doesnt need tomato soup or sauce or anything since im allergic to them. Any suggestions? THANKS!

Shepards pie. Just make a beef stew, thicken the gravy, put it into a baking dish and top with mashed potatoes and brown in the oven. No cheese at all. You can also put peas, carrots and all sorts of veggies you like in it. You can make it quick or slow cook the stew all day. You can also make it with leftovers if you like.

  7. @HOWITZA glad to hear. Appreciate the education but there are a few
occasions in which I intentionally mispronounced words or say something
that an American wouldn’t pronounce… Like tomato

  8. :) understandable…I tend to get sidetracked

  22. The soup came out nice but for future reference, thyme is pronounced time
rather than fyme. I’d say i’d try to make it myself but in reality i’ll
probably just grab a tin of heinz. We treat fresh vegatables like bibles in
    our household….

  24. Oh you take suggestions?! Coool, I was wondering if there’s a Poor Man’s
version for fajitas? I’ve tried making them before but they always end up
tasting like a plain ol’ stirfry which is good, but I want fajitas! lol

  25. gosh shepards pie, just leave off the cheese, no big deal This is also a great way to use up left over mashed potatoes from Thanksgiving
    SHEPHERD PIE

    1/2 cup chopped onions
    2 lbs. chopped beef
    4 large sliced carrots
    2 cups peas
    Small amount of cooking fat
    3 cups water
    6 cups mashed potatoes

GRAVY: ( easier and get a good 2 jars of beef gravy)

    2 cubes beef bouillon
1 tsp. marmite bisto to thicken

Gravy ingredients are available from Fiesta.

Cook onions in oil until transparent. Brown ground beef and drain off excess fat. Add water, crumble bouillon cubes, marmite and carrots. Simmer gently for 10-20 minutes, stirring frequently, do not let it cook dry. Add more water if necessary. Mix bisto according to directions on tin and add to meat mixture, stirring continuously until the gravy thickens. Place meat mixture into an oven proof casserole dish, if the gravy covers the meat mixture drain off and reserve to use later. I would advise to make lots of gravy. Spoon peas over mixture, and top with mashed potatoes, making a design with a fork on top. Place under broiler until top is a golden brown and serve immediately with the extra gravy.

  26. You can make a stroganoff without cheese or tomatoes or a goulash over noodles. Either one would be based on a white sauce that you flavor to your taste.

  27. My grandmother makes this and I love it. Cook some noodles, elbow works well. Pour them into a deep baking dish. Cover with a can of chopped up tomatoes (reserve the juice). Cover with drained ground beef. Pour the tomato juice over the top. If you like, squirt ketchup or A1 on top. Cover with foil and bake in the over an 350 for 20-30 minutes until hot through.
