Question by dna habitue: Which vegetable addition would taste good with this curry?
I’m making an Indian-style chickpea curry with the following ingredients:
Green beans
Tomatoes
Onion
Carrots
Peas
I don’t really want to add tofu or any fake meat products. Can you think of any bean or vegetable that I could add that would give it a little more bulk?

We have it with pakoras ( fritters) or even as an accompaniment with an
Indian meal to add that little zing to any meal.

Dear Lady, you did it marvellously , I am personally a big fan of tomatoes,
I eat them at anytime of the day. I’d love this one with toast and
scrambled eggs.
*Tomato Chutney*
Here is a 3 minute by Indian home-cook, Veena Gidwani, on making my
favorite chutney, *Tomato*.
I love the part towards the end where she uses a *swizzle stick*(hand
blender) to blend the ingredients, I believe only we Trinidadians can
relate to using that kitchen utensil

Eggplant, potatoes , cauliflower ,
Mushrooms are usually pretty good for bulking up vegetarian dishes. Another option would be eggplant, but if cooked too long it’ll pretty much desinegrate. Lima beans or white beans would be good to.
Rice or potatoes. It’ll make your meal more filling. Also add alittle ginger =)
I put potatoes in mine
Sweet Potato
Okra
Chick Peas
Lentils
Cauliflower goes great in curry. I would leave out the peas.
I think the chickpeas will probably be enough for you, but if you want to add more, I think sweet potatoes go quite well with curry. They definitely will add bulk.
You can canned chopped tomatoes, onion, green beans, and potato. Peas would be good too.
Why not add some whole chickpeas in there? Bell peppers (capsicum) would probably taste good in there, too.
If you eat dairy, you could put some cubes of paneer in it.
