Question by Thinking: Looking for spaghetti sauce recipe with fresh tomatoes?
I’ve never made spaghetti sauce with fresh tomatoes (I’ve always used canned tomatoes). I’ve found a couple of recipes on the net, but they all call for tomato ‘paste’ as well as fresh tomatoes. I’m not driving to the store today! I do have tomato ‘sauce’, though.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

u should use you tomatoes sauce and just add some basil and a few diced tamatoes
For the sauce
1 tbsp olive oil
½ onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
200g/7oz fresh chopped tomatoes
handful fresh basil, chopped
salt and freshly ground black pepper
. To make the sauce, heat the oil in a frying pan. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, but not browned.
Add the tomatoes and cook until broken down.
Cook the pasta in a large pan of salted boiling water for 30 seconds, before draining well.
Stir the basil through the tomato sauce and season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Serve the pasta in a serving bowl with the sauce spooned over.
This one is a wonderful way to use fresh tomatoes – you don’t even cook the sauce, just make, let sit, and then toss with hot pasta! I make this a lot in the summer!
Linguine with Fresh Tomato Sauce
2 cups seeded, and coarsely chopped tomato
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 cup firmly packed fresh basil leaves, minced
1 cup firmly packed fresh parsley leaves, minced
3 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan
3 garlic cloves, or to taste, minced
2 teaspoons salt
1 pound linguine
Fresh parsley to garnish
Make tomato sauce:
In a bowl combine well all the sauce ingredients and let the sauce stand at room temperature, covered, for at least 1 hour.
In large pot, bring 5 quarts of salted water to a boil. Add linguine and stir to prevent sticking. Return water to boil and cook until pasta is firm but cooked, approximately 7 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain pasta well. Serve with tomato sauce, and garnish with fresh parsley.
Enjoy!
first of all chop 1 and a half large onions then chop about a quarter pound of mushrooms then put a large knob of butter in a good sized saucepan let them sweat untill the onions are translucient then add a pound of minced beef keep stiring untill the beef is cooked or browned then you can add you,r tomatoes about two pounds that you have already chopped and cooked in about three quarters of a pint of water they should have boiled and left to simmer for about half an hour then when they look like a thick sauce they are ready to be added now when you have added the tomatoes you can add a can of sliced carrots half a can of baked beans and a couple of desert spoons of sugar because tomatoes can be quite bitter i normally add a can of ministrone soup as well but thats optional anyway stir all this together and let it simmer for about 25 minutes by now you will of tasted it if it wants more sugar a little garlic salt whatever you now adjust it to taste then serve on a bed of pasta shells or spaghetti or whatever pasta you like i can assure you its deliciouse i,m sorry i have written this recipe backwards but i,m not used to writing recipes
