Question by Cosette C: Best kind of tomato to grow in a container?
I was wondering what kind of tomato was the best/easiest to grow oin a container. I have a large yard but I’m unable to plant because we are planning on moving soon and it could be next week or two months from now, so I’d rather just put them in a container in case they have to be moved. So space isn’t a concern. I’m located in Northeast PA is that matters at all. Thanks in advance.

i have always grown sweet million cherry tomatoes in planter so i could give them away or for if i had to move. you get many tomatoes all year and they come fast and early.
Great way to grow tomato’s in containers is to look for varieties that are bush or determinate types. These are well behaved the do not get huge and viney. They are normally early producers of fruit and you can actually get two separate harvests. there are lots of different varieties as well heirlooms new hybrids yellow red you name it. I do them in patio pots and they do great. remember to water on a regular schedule and fertilize and you will have a bumper crop.
