Question by Peace♥: Does Anyone Know Any Easy Soup Recipes?
Hey I’m 13 years old and my parents made this new deal with me, which is every time I make dinner for the family, they’ll give me $ 5.
So today my mom said that I should make soup.
Does anyone know any easy soup recipes that I can make for me, my parents, and my 2 siblings?
I don’t want to make anything like chicken noodle or tomato soup. I want to make something really fun and unique. (Preferably without mushrooms though :P)
If you do know any, I’ll need the ingredients and cooking instructions..which you can post as an answer or email to me at:
peaceheartrecycle@yahoo.com
If you know any websites that would be helpful, you could post the link and that would be great.
Thanks for the help. ♥^-^

Peace, you can make a nice minestrone, if you go to foodnetwork.com, Giada Di Laurentus, or Mario Batali, those two would be sure to have it. Another site you can go to is allrecipes.com. The way I do it, it’s really to clean out the crisper in the fridge, the way I do it is very drawn out. To give you an example I have parsnips, carrots, potato, onions, celery, ripe tomato, three kinds of beans, one of which are called balotti beans, and I soak them over night then boil before I add them to the minestrone. I also add peas, and whatever else I wish to throw in. Peace, the end result is a crowd pleaser. You need to serve that with a Baguette garlic bread, sprinkled with some parmesan, then place under the salamander. or the oven.

  1. Have your parents take you for lunch to a thai restaurant to try Tom Ka Gai soup, which is a tangy chicken soup with lemon grass and coconut milk, very delicious and usually inexpensive. Once you taste it, then you can reproduce it with the following website recipe. The reason you should try it at a restaurant first is so that you can know what it tastes like for you to compare when you make it for yourself, otherwise you won’t know if you’re doing it right or not. It also is a chance for the whole family to taste it first just to be sure they like it. Most people love it because it has a very light and fresh taste, a little spicy, and the coconut milk give a creamy flavor without making the soup thick.

  2. baked potato soup

    6 potatoes- like russets
put them on a plate, spray with pam (or butter them) then microwave 5min, flip, repeat
use a steak knife to stick in the center of one– when it’s soft, the knife goes in easily- they are done.
add a few minutes if they aren’t done
let them cool for about an hour (stick in fridge for faster cooling)
after they are cooled, use your hands to rub the skins off. It’s a little messy, but easy.

put peeled whole potatoes in a pot. add a can of evaporated milk, salt/pepper to taste, about a cup of shredded cheddar cheese, 1/2 stick butter (1/8c or so), and a big dollop of sour cream. Turn the heat on medium. As you “stir” gently, the potatoes will crumble. just keep doing this until it’s heated through. add bacon bits and green onions on the top, or you can stir in just before serving.

viola! baked potato soup. Easy and very filling. I like to add extra butter to my bowl.

  3. I do not know if you like Asian food. But there is a soup that you can be creative with. You can add or leave out vegetables. Put in only what you like.
It is called Sinigang. You can find it at an Oriental Food store or in Asian sections of grocery stores.
(Have you ever eaten sour grass? It is similar to that taste. But not that strong. It is very good. Be bold and daring and experiment.
OK It takes less than 15-20 minutes: Bring water to boil in a 6 quart sauce pan. Cut up about 1/2 to 1 cup of pork (use the cheapest cut of pork that you can buy. Boil for 5 to 10 minutes. Spoon out the foamy stuff. It gives you a healthier soup with out the fat and calories. My favorite veggie is spinach or string beans in this recipe. Turn off the heat and drop in your veggies. String beans may take a few minutes to boil. Wait until they are tender. Pour in your Sinigang and stir for a few seconds. It is very good on boiled rice. It is quick and cheap and very nutritious. One package cost on 35 cents plus the cost of your vegatables and pork. You can use fish or shrimp. It is not that good with chicken. Many Asians use cut up tomatoes, carrots, celery onions or whatever you like. But you have to adjust your cooking time for the harder veggies. .
In the Philippines we say: Masarap (Ma-sa- rap)=Delicious. Good Luck

  4. There are various kinds of soups… thin and usually clear soups, and “cream of” soups, and “pureed” soups, for example, which are kind of whole classes of soups.
