Question by Anonymous: How long do cherry tomato plants live?
My friend’s plant only survived for a year, but I think they can live longer if they’re kept in a greenhouse (his plants probably died of frost.) What is the life expectancy of cherry tomato plant?

My cherry tomato plant did terrific! I live in northern Alabama. we were still harvesting tomatoes in September and early October. I used Miracle grow soil and Miracle grow plant food around my tomato plants. The plants grew over 4 feet tall and 4 feet wide on a vine. We shared with neighbors because the harvest was so great! You need to be in a warm climate like California or Florida for your plants to live longer. Usually, you have to replant every year depending on your climate. A greenhouse should be very helpful to you.

no tomato plant lives a year where you have frost .
from germination to the end of the fruiting season around 8 months they will die down once fruiting has finished as the plant is spent.
I have a green house. I have tried several times with different types of tomato’s. They will not live more than one season.
yeah, they die of frost but i have had luck with them growing new plants from seed. i suppose a few cherries fell on the ground and were covered slightly with soil, so every year i get couple of new seedlings for free
depends on your soil. i bought my home 3 years ago and the plant has come back every year since. i dont know if its the seeds, rabbits or birds that makes it come back. or its a magic plant…….lol
