Question by Deb: Know any quick and easy recipes?
As in canned tomato recipes or something of that nature.
Something that doesn’t call for perishables, like fresh vegetables, cheese or frozen ingredients.
Only long term store-able ingredients.

Spaghetti Sauce
1 lg. onion, chopped (about 1 cup) or use dehydrated onions
1 clove garlic, crushed (or garlic powder)
1 cup wqater
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. dried oregano leaves
3/4 tsp. dried basil leaves
1/2 tsp. dried marjoram leaves
1/4 tsp. dried rosemary leaves
1 bay leaf
1 can tomato sauce (8oz.)
1 can tomato paste (6oz.)
Brown onion & garlic. Stir in remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, 1 hour.

Take a can of Spam and cut it into small cubes. Brown in olive oil. Add to the spaghetti sauce.
Cook spaghetti pasta and add to all of the above.

BAKED SALMON LOAF
15 1/2 oz. can red or pink salmon, drained
1/2 c. celery, chopped
1/4 c. onion, chopped
1/4 c. skimmed evaporated milk
2 egg whites
1 tsp. dill seed
1 c. toasted bread crumbs (about 2 slices)
Mix all the above ingredients well. Use your hands to form one loaf, and place that loaf in a Pyrex or tin loaf pan. Bake at 375 degrees for about 45 minutes. Slice and serve warm. Serves 4.

GREEN BEANS
1 can green beans (drained)
1 Tbs. bacon bits
1 Tbs. dehydrated onion pieces.
1 Tbs. olive oil
1/2 cup water
Bring all to a boil and simmer for 15 min.

  9. Thank you, Kelvin! Unrefrigerated tomatoes have more flavor. When they are kept in the refrigerator, they loose some of their flavor and the texture sometimes changes.
