Question by blessings_times_three: How do you keep rabbits and mice off the veggie garden?
My son and I made our first veggie garden this year. I used old pavers to raise the bed about a foot high. In the raised bed, we have corn, tomatoes, sweet peas, pumpkin and carrots.
I know there are mice and rabbits nearby, and it’s only a matter of time before they find our garden. Any suggestions on how to protect the raised garden bed? Thanks!

plant marigolds around the garden; the critters don’t like the smell……

Red Pepper is a great deterant for rodent style critters.
I have also found a fabulous product by the company ~I Must Garden~ They carry a full line of repellants to help you. They are all organic and can be used up until time of harvest. All natural is the way to go when coming to food items. If you happen to have creepy crawlies like caterpillars, it is best to pick them off with your hands, and although this may sound wierd or even a little yucky, keep a spray bottle of simple water handy, whilst harvesting the squirmy critters drop them into the water and leave to decompose, it makes a great nutritious foilage spritz, feed your plants what would have been feeding on them…LOL…
