Usually fruits are dried in a dehydrator. I use mine to dry mangos and apples

  1. You can dry anything and you don’t need sulfur dioxide. An old woman at the other end of town dried string beans out of her garden in a warm oven. Then she kept them in Mason jars because she didn’t do much canning any more. If you want to learn how to dry and preserve food, google it up. It’s not like there’s any big secret.

  2. I asked someone at Trader Joes why some fruit had sulfur dioxide and others didn’t and she said it was just so that the fruits keep their color. If you are making them just for you that wouldn’t matter and you can just use a dehydrator which is this circle thing that basically slowly bakes fruit at a very low heat which just takes out all the moisture in the food.
