Question by Deana: do sweet things have msg?
i am allergic to msg,and it gives me sever migraines if i eat it..i want to go to McDonald’s and get one of their fruit smoothies and a snack wrap with no sauce,so basically just fried chickens,a tortila and cheese…would any of the following have msg..i didn’t think the shake cuz msg is like a salt right?

I would think the fried chicken has more msg than anything you’ve mentioned. Also, I guess you don’t eat chips, doritos, crackers, canned soups… etc.
MSG is mainly used in savory (salty) foods.

It is unlikely that there is, but I urge you to enquire at the store if any of their products contain MSG, and when buying other products check the labels carefully.
MSG is naturally find in some vegetables, seaweed, some cereal, and especially beets. it is used as a flavor enhancer, chinese food contains a lot of MSG, I would think that you should be ok to eat the wrap without the sauce.
Sweet things that may have msg in them are things like sweet and sour chicken, teriyaki sauce and things like that. I would just avoid sweet/savory foods to be safe. I think the smoothie is fine but not the snack wrap because you don’t know how they season the chicken and what’s in the sauce.
Tomato sauce is sweet and has msg!
