Question by …: Okay no.. you are not the tomato I have such fond memories of!!?
Okay, I pretty new to cooking, but I took a cooking class in high school and one day we made stir fry. It had tomatoes in it and they were SOO good.. they just burst in your mouth and were delicious! Fast forward to tonights dinner- these tomatoes are NOT good. Gag. I made beef tip kabobs with cherry tomatoes and the tomatoes taste like tomato soup. Not juicy or sweet or anything like I wanted. Is there a difference in the tomatoes?
Ok so what tomatoes am I thinking about? Are sundried tomatoes used in stir-fry? Are they juicy?

Oh yes- there are many different kinds of tomatoes and you can tell when you get some bad ones!
I like tomato I get form a local farm- it is the “same” breed as many others at the store but his are grown in different stuff or something cause they are so GOOD!

Not all tomatoes are created equal. It really depends on how the were grown. Most store bought tomatoes these days are mass produced in cheap soil and not allowed to ripen on the vine. Then refrigerated for shipment. They have little flavor and the texture is life less. The best tomatoes I ever had were home grown in a garden.
Sun dried tomatoes are not juicy. They are dried like a prune.
I like grape tomatoes, mmmm they are sweet and pop in ur mouth like that
It’s going to cost you but you have to buy ‘ Vine Ripened Tomatoes’ or Heirloom tomatoes. The bulk tomatoes you typically buy in the store have been bred to be a consistant size and shape and not bruise easily with NO consideration given to taste.
Locally grown, in season tomatoes are always the best.
Since the tomato season is over, it will be very difficult if not impossible to find a good tomato.
Fruits and vegetables that are in season will always taste the best. Many people actually don’t like tomatoes, but many of those same people have never had a tomato during the correct season.
Apples, Squash, Pumpkins, and root vegetables are in season right now. Not tomatoes though, wait for next summer before you eat those again. (good ones at least)
tomatoes grown in your own garden taste far better then any thing out of the grocery store
the store tomatoes called on the vine are the best but still not all that great, once you grow your own
