Question by Mous3: Growing cherry tomatoes indoors?
I just started growing some cherry tomatoes in a small Jiffy greenhouse. I have 24 seeds spaced out in 2 rows of 12 about 2 inches from each other (because it came with 24 peat pellets in 2 rows of 12 and i had a packet of 24 seeds.)
This is my first time growing something edible and so many at once, so I need some help. I don’t have outdoor space for an actual garden. Will all 24 seeds grow okay? Or will I need to separate them into larger, more spaced out pots/planters once they get the second leaves (aka true leaves) (I read a bit about transplanting them outdoors)?
I just started them this morning and have the mini greenhouse covered and sitting on top of my refrigerator to build warmth/humidity.

let them get alittle bigger then pick out the strongest ones to transplant .. they need alot of sun and a big container .. so that will decide how many you actually keep .. they will get BIG with the proper conditions .. i typically do 5 in a 25 foot row in the garden and they still overgrow themselves into a wooly mess lol …you wont need 24 trust me haha …

you’re pretty funny
You’ll need a bigger space with light to grow them inside. For each plant, you’ll need a 3-5 gallon bucketwith potting soil with drainage under sunny conditions 6-8 hours a day. Expect them to grow 4-6 feet tall and spread out a little bit past the buckets in width. Of course, you have to water often, so I hope you have really great drains in this huge greenhouse in your house, otherwise, why would you grow outdoor plants that need a full day of sun, if you had no place outside to grow them?
Below I videoed our container garden, including our grape and patio tomatoes last year. Go to the fifth minute and notice the problems we had with tomatoes, and we thought we had space for tomatoes. They’re in 5-gallon buckets. This was July. It got worse in August.
