Question by mark: How do i stop branches falling off tomatoe plants?
I have two different types of tomatoes plants roma and cherry the cherry tomatoes have the problem worse than the roma but a lot of the branches are turning yellow and falling off and I was wondering what to do to prevent this

I’m guessing since I don’t know how big your plants are or if they are in the ground or container. Hopefully your plants are supported by cages or staking. It’s normal to have some branches turn yellow. Cherry tomatoes usually don’t have problems and grow like weeds. Romas have a problem with the ends turning black. If you don’t have an insect problem then I would say you are having a watering problem.

My early girls did this…the lower branches were turning yellow..I just pulled them off. I heard this was very common/normal. Make sure you don’t water the leaves, just water the soil. Make sure you don’t water it too much. Give it a nice slow drink in the mornings. Until the soil is nice and wet. Stick your finger in the soil, if it is damp it doesn’t need water, if it is dry, water. Also, my plants improved when I sprinkled the soil with epsom salt, and watered.
That is a normal thing. As a matter of fact, I have never not had the turn yellow and fall off. I have grown them for years.
