I only have tomato sauce. Recipe calls for 1 tablespoon of tomato paste. How much tomato sauce should I use instead?

Tomato paste is used to help flavor and thicken whatever it’s going in. Tomato sauce won’t have the same effect. I don’t think they’re interchangeable.

If it’s a soup or chili you’re putting it in then just add a few tablespoons. If you’re putting it in something that is meant to be solid then i would suggest not substituting paste with sauce as it has much more water in it and your food won’t turn out right. taste may not change all that much but the appearance most likely will.
I would say no..since they aren’t the same….but it would help if you had told us what you are making…
