Question by michelliosis: stuffed pepper recipe no canned tomato?
i want to make stuff peppers tonight (beef and rice kind) but all the recipes i have call for canned tomato or tomato sauce of some kind. i don’t have any of that. i have ketchup i could doctor, spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce, or condensed tomato soup… how can i make stuffed peppers using any of those things instead of canned tomato products?

I think I would use the spaghetti sauce. You won’t get your pieces of tomato unless it is a chunky spaghetti sauce but I still think it would probably turn out just fine.

Love her energy, but the soup looked watery and not thick.
She is beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful Blythe! <3
go with the spaghetti sauce.. matters if you have the can or the regular glass jar.
1 cup mozzarella
1/2 lb ground beef cooked
1 cup cooked white or brown rice
1/2 cooked cut onion yellow or white
1tsp italian season
pinch of red pepper flakes
salt and pepper to taste
mix with enough sauce to moisten mixture but not runny
preheat oven to 375
6 cut and cleaned peppers halved from top to bottom
lay out in glass baking dish. bake peppers for 25-30 empty to soften. remove from oven and fill rounded. cover with foil and bake 30-45 minutes. top with mozzarella cheese and place in over for 3-5 minutes .. serve!
here is my family recipe that we LOVE!
boil hollowed out peppers in water till slightly soft- place in baking dish
make 4 servings of rice
brown meat
mix meat and rice with one egg- stuff into peppers- palce extra mix around peppers in dish
top with condensed tomato soup and bake covered at 375 for 45min till soup is nice and bubbly!
