Can a single tomato plant by itself actually grow tomatoes on it? Or do you need “two” tomato plants growing near each other in order to get tomatoes to start growing on them…?

You only need one plant. But you do need insect pollinators to transfer pollen from one flower to another on the same plant. (Or you can use your finger)

  3. I’ve been advised by a number of veteran tomato growers that you want dry tomato leaves as much as possible. The only time they should get wet is when it rains. So, directly applying a spray to them is not advisable, unless you’re doing this only a couple of times during the growing season. It’s best to allow the plant to absorb the nutrients gradually through the soil.

  4. Not to mention that it ran off the top soil to the lowest point. I personally mix mine in a clean gallon jug and slowly pour it on the base. If slow to absorb, do it in increments so it doesn’t run off. And yes, it really works. If your soil is deficient in magnesium, you will see your vines grow like crazy, put on lots flowers which results in lots of tomato’s. About 10 days after applying, you will be amazed (IF your soil is deficient in Magnesium).

  5. Most states have county Agriculture Extension Offices. Contact the Ag extension office for your county. They can give you an idea about the various soils found in your county. Additionally, in rural areas, many “seed and feed” farm/ranch stores will mail it off for you to be tested. You can also order kits on line, just Google it.

  7. I do this to all my plants 2 times a year and it works great.

  8. Don’t call that watering carefully…it was just thrown on

  9. The How was explained. The When was also indicated.

How = 1 tablespoon to 1 gallon of water. Apply near or at the base of the plant.
When, well it was stated to do a soil test. If you need it add it. Wait a week, and observe results. It was stated to use it 3 or 4 times during the growing season.

So the video did not suck.

  10. No need for that.

  11. Can I use this on cabbage?

  12. i concur sir…..

  13. I have heard and read that you could spray the mixture onto your leaves as the plant will absorb it quicker. Others like that P. Allen Smith (PBS Guy) mentioned to sprinkle it around the base of the plant and let the rain soak it into the soil.

  14. There are kits sold at Home Depot, Lowes etc. Some college’s have the local Cooperative Extension offices that can tell you where you can bring a sample for testing

  15. I tried this on my tomato plants and I cann assure you that it works. One of my plants is a Seattle’s Best Heirloom and it is now over 4 ft high and is absolutely LOADED with small tomatoes and blossoms!! it works

  16. can i use the stone fertilizer on a baby tomato plant

  17. An even bigger question, who actually farms tomatoes?

  18. 99 farming?

  19. now make yourself a salad.

  20. There remains a huge questionmark. How do you test your soil?

  21. Only one plant is needed but you won’t get many tomatoes from a single plant.

  22. You only need one tomato plant. It’s not the male, female thing you see in some fruit trees. Get a couple from your local nursery and call your county extension to find out which tomato species grows best in your area.

  23. one plant is ok to make the pollen sucess use not your finger ,just put the plant in little windy place or use a cotton bud normally the sucess by themself

  24. You only need one, but blossom set is needed.

  25. One plant will be fine..to pollinate simply manually shake the plant for about 5 seconds each day after you see blooms appearing…this will pollinate it..In commercial greenhouses that have no access to bees to pollinate they actually have machines that shake the plant to pollinate..
