Tomato juice + Dog = smelly

My dog got sprayed by a skunk so we doused him in tomato juice. I didn’t film the whole thing because I takes a while.

Question by pisces0223: Trouble Canning Quartered Tomato’s?
Help, this is my first time canning and I followed the directions to the ‘t’. Its been 24 hours and the tomato’s are floating with about 1 inch of juice on the bottom. The tomato’s at the very top are not in the juice. Are these all bad – and if so, what did I do wrong??

No they are fine. The tomatos and juice separate in the jar, but they are fine to eat.

  1. Press the tomatoes down with a slotted spoon.
    Are they whole?
There’s probably just some air pockets caught in the tomatoes.

  2. I agree with Wise Old Man. I’ve canned a lot of tomatoes, so did my Grandmother, and they do float with the juice on the bottom. You didn’t do anything wrong. 😉

  3. As long as your jars sealed they are fine.
