Number 1, are the tomatoes the consistency you like? If yes continue. If not put them in a food processer with olive oil (2Tablespoons) a teaspon of sea salt, 1 teaspoon of sugar, cilantro, oregano, or any Italian seasonings only. Put all this in a saucepan or frypan under medium heat and don’t forget the bay leaf and garlic and chopped onion and bell pepper. Hope that helps.

You use a saucepan. Add sweet basil, a pinch of brown sugar, Italian seasoning, pepper. Simmer it for about 30 minutes.
It’s not how I would make it, but since you just want tomato sauce and not a hearty spaghetti sauce, that’s a basic sauce you should make.
tomato sauce is the base for ALL pasta sauces. There are many recipes for a nice basic pasta sauce using tomato sauce as the base.
ANY kettle or pan will work. You simmer for about 20 minutes to “marry” the flavors although cooking longer won’t hurt it. tomato based sauces burn easy though.
google ” pasta sauce” and many recipes will come up. look at them and see if you have the ingredients you need.
I saute onions, garlic and green peppers in a very small amount of oil. I add the tomato sauce and the following herbs: basil, oregano, dried parsley, salt and pepper and enough water to make it a bit runny.
Simmer for 15 minutes and taste…add more seasonings if you want to. Simmer until it is the thickness you desire and adjust seasoning. I then add crumbled browned Italian sausage or ground beef and simmer some more. You can add a dash of crushed red peppers to give it a bit of spice if you want. Some folks add a small amount of sugar to cut the acid flavor of the tomatoes as well. My friend always added brown sugar…its up to you.
A finely chopped carrot will ad sweetness and a dash of ground clove will take out bitterness
