Question by Mamawifey: What kind of nut to throw in a cucumber/tomato salad?
I’ve only ever had caesar salad before up until the other day when my fiance made a tomato, cucumber, romaine lettuce salad with zesty italian sauce… I love it! I like it just the way it is but I wanted to add something else to it… not a cheese or anything I don’t think but maybe a nut of some sort.. what kind of nut would be good in it? Almonds maybe? Any ideas

How about toasted pine nut, toasted sunflower seeds or toasted pecans? Those are wonderful in a Chicken salad with Feta cheese, cranraisins, and chopped apple on a bed of salad greens – drizzled with raspberry vinaigrette.
On second thought – because of the shapes and sizes of your cucumber and tomatoes – I think toasted sesame seeds would be better.
walnuts, almonds or cashews any would be fine…
Toasted Pine Nuts!
Either pine nuts, pumpkin or sunflower seeds.
