My mom used to make tomato soup with noodles in it. I know for a fact the soup was the canned version. What I don’t know is when to put in the noodles. Do I cook the noodles in the soup? Do I cook them in a separate pan and add them in?

I would cook the noodle separately …the noodle have a great deal of starch they let off during cooking…you would end up with tomato gum….cook the canned soup then add the noodle when done to your liking

I know it isn’t very gourmet, but I make this all the time! Cook the soup and noodles separately, I use elbow noodles and Campbell’s Tomato Soup. When the soup is hot, add the noodles. To jazz it up a bit, I add black pepper and a ton of parmesan cheese! Good luck! Yummo!=]

cook everything separately.. cook the noodles.. and then when they are almost done… start the soup… strain the noodles and throw them in the heated soup..

You could do it either way, but if you cook them separately you don’t have to worry about burning the tomato soup part. If you cook them in the same pot, you will want to stir it occassionally and add the noodles after the whole thing starts to boil.
my mom made the same canned version add the noodles. just let the soupstart to boil add thin egg noodles simmer for 10 min. Its just as easy and better tasting to make your own soup tommato juice 2 small tomatoes salt peppper cilantro add nooddles simmer while you grill the cheese sandwiches and your set
