  1. The most important part of any meal is the time and effort you put in to it. To make a great Grilled Cheese Sandwich you need fresh cheese and fresh bread. Ingredients are bread, cheese, and butter.
Take 2 pieces of bread, a slice of cheese and insert the cheese in between the bread, butter the outside of the bread on each side. Place in a pan on low heat and turn when needed, until both sides are golden brown. Serve with pickles and potato chips on the side.

  2. get 2 pieces of bread, butter one side of each piece. put the first piece of bread down on a hot pan (butter side down)
then put cheese on it – and tomato slices, bacon, ham or whatever. then put the other slice of bread on – butter side up. when the cheese starts melting and the bread on the bottom is browning, then flip it over and cook the other side.
MAKING tomato soup is a little harder than opening a can of Campbell’s – i woiuld go the Campbell’s way if it were up to me :)

  3. i TOTALLY AGREE WITH GOLDENSA,,,,,,,,,,,

  4. I basically agree with the others, but I have a tough time making my cheese melt, so I use a cast iron skillet, medium to low heat, and I like to cover the sandwich with a lid while the first side is frying.

    1. Put three or four slices of butter in the skillet (cast iron, if you have one), then turn the heat on medium and let the butter melt.
    2. Put in the first slice of bread, and carefully add the cheese. (If you are using grated cheese, try to make sure it doesn’t fall off onto the fry pan.)
    3. Cover with slice number 2 of bread, and then put the lid on. Check every 30 seconds or so. (No timer? “Twinkle-twinkle little star” or the ABC song takes about 30 seconds to sing.) I’d say it’ll take two to four minutes. To check, carefully lift the sandwich with a spatula, and peek underneath. It should be golden and crunchy. If it’s black, you’ve cooked it too long! LOL! (But don’t worry, you can scrape that off with a knife.)
    4. Flip the sandwich. Don’t cover it. How long did it take side one to brown? Use that time minus one minute, and check. It may need a little more time.
    5. When done, Use a spatula to put it on a plate. I like to cut mine into triangles.

Tomato soup: follow the directions on the can. It’s not really a project for beginners! But, just in case:
    1. You can used canned tomatoes or a fresh tomato. Let’s use one fresh tomato. Plunge it into boiling water, and take it out when the skin begins to crack (about 30 seconds). Use tongs. Remove the skin, chop the tomato (de-seed if you like) and put it into a bowl.
    2. Dice 1/4 of an onion VERY finely. Add 2 tsp. of olive oil to a skillet, and fry the onion until it is translucent. Sprinkle 2 tsp. of flour over the top, and fry until you don’t see any more flour powder. Add the diced tomato, and fry until the tomato is very soft. Add 1 cup of milk, and stir until your soup gets thick and bubbly.
    3. Add salt, pepper and herbs to taste (I think Italian seasonings, like thyme, basil, oregano, etc. are very nice).

    Serve with your sandwich.

Just be careful to keep the heat low, so you don’t burn stuff.

    Good luck!
