Question by Mary: Do I have enough ingredients to make a creamy tomato soup in the crockpot?
I have a 50 oz can of tomato soup and to make it creamier I have 1/2 pint left of fat free half and half. Is that enough ingredients to put in the crock-pot to make a cream based tomato soup.

It depends on how creamy you like it–and how many people you are serving it to.
You may need a whole pint for a 50oz can.

You’ll need equal parts liquid to the can of condensed soup. Empty the contents into the pot or crock pot and add the milk to the can and fill up to the top with water or milk.
Yes, that’s enough. I constantly play with the liquid ratio’s and cream ratio in soups. The cream in tomato soup is largely about mouth feel. Using potato soup as an example (I make potato soup quite frequently), I’v made the soup with cream ratio’s of 0% through about 50% and many variations in the middle. They all work and taste good. My favorite is probably 10% but whatever amount you have will probably create a good soup.
heating the half and half for a long period and very hot like that will cause the half and half to appear curdled.
I am not sure why you would want to make this in the crock pot when you can heat the soup in a kettle in a matter of minutes, using the half and half without the curdled issue.
Why put this in the crock pot. You have soup already made it will only take about 5 min to heat it up. And it wont benefit anything from being in the slow cooker.
However you have everything you need for extra creamy tom soup.
