I am from New York originally, where you can find various pickle shops throughout the city and I am not sure where I can find a similar place in Los Angeles with various pickled items.

  1. good lord man, make your own!!! it is quite simple i assure you!!
here is a basic brine for the pickled tomatoes that i have used with great success:

for 1 gallon of pickled green tomatoes, you shall require:
    i gallon jar
    i cup basalmic vinegar
1 cup extra virgin olive oil
    1 oz rosemary (crushed)
    1 oz basil (crushed)
1 oz oregano and thyme (crushed)
    1 pureed onion
    10 pureed garlic cloves
4 oz Sazon or Adobo seasoning
    2 oz brown sugar
    1 egg yolk

put egg yolk in a blender
add vinegar, Sazon, sugar, onion, garlic and herbs
blend on high for 5 minutes
    strain thru a fine chinois
dispose of the the debris and keep the liquid
wash the blender and add the liquid
now blend on medium while slowly drizzling in the olive oil.
this should form a delightfully thick emulsion
now cut your tomatoes crosswise to increase surface area, put em in the jar, pour on the marinade/brine and let them sit in your fridge for 2 weeks. they will be DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!
