Question by Cesaria Barbarossa – 40K: Is this pasta healthy?
OK, so i’m using Barilla plus pasta and adding either extra lean ground beef (97/3) or a similarly lean turkey. Low carb/fat garlic bread and Classico tomato sauce.
Is this a pretty healthy meal?
It’s made with golden semolina and wholesome flaxseed, spelt, oats, barley and legumes. And you’re right, portion control. My husband’s biggest vice right now but we’re working on it!

Measure it out to make sure you’re not consuming a huge portion (pasta portions in restaurants are generally 3 times the size you’re supposed to have). If it’s whole wheat pasta, that’s good.

Pasta is pretty good for you to get energy because it has a lot of carbs.
Try this (2 cup serving’s per person)
– Wholewheat pasta or durham wholewheat pastas or “smart” pasta
– Plain healthy choice tomato sauce or olive oil with added herbs/ spices and 1/2 cup diced vegetables
– Extra lean ground beef, lean ground turkey, ground soy crumbs, sliced chicken breast, turkey meatballs, meatless soy meatballs, prawns, shrimp, scallops, beans, lentils, chickpeas or tofu
– Wholewheat toast with 2tsp garlic margerine and optional side salad with light dressing/ vinagrette.
Hope i’v helped, best of luck!
