  11. I have never eaten these, but I have a recipe, for others who do! Slice tomatoes into 1/4-1/2 inch slices lay out and salt and pepper them. roll in flour, dip in egg beaten with 1 tsp milk, then dredge in fine cracker crumbs. Fry in oil till golden and crisp! Enjoy

  12. INGREDIENTS(fried green tomatoe lasagne)
4 large ripe tomatoes, peeled and chopped
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
    2 tablespoons sugar
    2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
    1 garlic clove, minced
    1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
    1/8 teaspoon pepper
    5 tablespoons butter or margarine
4 large tomatoes, cut into 1/4 inch slices
    1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    6 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
    2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
    DIRECTIONS
In a large saucepan, combine the first seven ingredients. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat; set aside. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Dip green tomato slices in flour; brown in skillet on both sides. Remove to paper towels to drain. Spoon 3/4 cup tomato mixture into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2 in. baking dish. Top with a third of the green tomatoes; sprinkle with 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese. Repeat layers twice. Top with remaining tomato mixture and mozzarella cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F for 15-20 minutes or until cheese is melted and sauce is bubbly. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

  13. sliced tomato’s 1/2 inch
bread with cajun spice and corn flour mix
try with a simple sweet chile vinagrete sprinkle with a goat cheese and broil for a minute till cheese browns lightly
great on creamed corn,chunky-tomato,and onion soups.

  14. these are really good especially with fish.

    green tomatos
    corn meal
    flour
    seasoning(pepper, lawreys seasoned salt)
    canola oil
slice tomatos, coat with corn meal, flour, seasoning, fry in oil. about 1 minute on each side. or you can mix a little milk with the corn meal/flour mixture and deep fry
    enjoy

  15. There are a couple ways to do Green Tomato’s.
Deep Fry; Use a fry daddy or deep fry pan w/ vegetable oil. 450
    Slice tomatoes. Not to thick.
    3 flat bowls. 1st w/ flour, 2nd w/ beaten eggs and 3rd w/ bread crumbs.
    (In that order)
put the tomato slice in the flour, (lightly coat) than into egg. Than pat into bread crumbs. Place breaded slice on wax paper, and repeat with more slices. You will find using 1 hand for the flour and egg and 1 hand for the bread crumbs will work best. Otherwise you have one gooey hand.
When done drop each slice individually into hot oil.(about 1 min.) then flip over for 1 minute. (Using tongs of course). Let cool somewhat before tasting. Add salt, pepper or what ever you like to flavor your food with. Eat plain or serve with ranch dressing.
Another way to cook them, if you are just cooking for yourself and don’t want to go through all that bother, is fry in butter to brown on both sides. Try sprinkling some Parmesan cheese in them when done. either way. “Good Stuff”!
