Question by confused: What are some good soups or soup recipes?
I’m hungry for soup but not sure which kind. Any ideas? thanks

you can look on marthastewart.com and do a recipe search for soup and see what is on there…..

  6. soup is your soul, put any and every thing in the pot you like and it always comes out good,

  7. take any veg that you particularly crave or like, cut it up and chop it up and put it in a pan with some butter and just let it cook gently until soft. An onion is a good thing to put in it too! Then add about 2 pints of good chicken stock, boil and then simmer for about 20 mins….and there you have it! Add salt and pepper to taste….You can then embalish it….add cream or pulse the vegetables …..hmmm….I think I’ll make some now! Of course, you could always open a can!

    Cabbage Beef Soup

    Pam Cooking Spray
    1- Pound Very Lean Ground Beef
    1 ½ -Tsp Salt
    2-Cloves Garlic – Minced
    ½-Tsp Pepper
    4-Stems Celery – Diced
    3-Cans Bush Chili Hot Beans
    ½-Med Head Cabbage – Shredded Coarse
    1-28 Oz Can Diced Tomatoes
    2-Cans Beef Stock
    2-Cans Water

    Spray Dutch Oven lightly with Pam cooking spray. Brown beef. Drain any grease thoroughly. Add all remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Simmer 1 hour or longer. Option: Add carrots and potatoes.

    Jamie’s Minestrone

    INGREDIENTS:
    3 tablespoons olive oil
    3 cloves garlic, chopped
    2 onions, chopped
    2 cups chopped celery
    5 carrots, sliced
    2 cups chicken broth
    2 cups water
    4 cups tomato sauce
    1/2 fluid ounce red wine (optional)
    1 cup canned kidney beans, drained
    1 (15 ounce) can green beans
    2 cups baby spinach, rinsed
    3 zucchinis, quartered and sliced
    1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano
    2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/2 cup seashell pasta
    2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese for topping
    1 tablespoon olive oil

    DIRECTIONS:
    Over medium-low heat, in a large stock pot, heat olive oil and saute garlic for 2 to 3 minutes. Add onion and saute for 4 to 5 minutes. Add celery and carrots, saute for 1 to 2 minutes.
    Add chicken broth, water and tomato sauce, bring to boil, stirring frequently. If desired add red wine at this point. Reduce heat to low and add kidney beans, green beans, spinach leaves, zucchini, oregano, basil, salt and pepper. Simmer for 30 to 40 minutes, the longer the better.
    Fill a medium saucepan with water and bring to a boil. Add macaroni and cook until tender. Drain water and set aside.
    Once pasta is cooked and soup is heated through place 2 tablespoons cooked pasta into individual serving bowls. Ladle soup on top of pasta and sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top. Spray with olive oil and serve.

  10. Grandma’s soup

    Ingredients:
    1 onion
    350 gr. Brüssel sprouts
    2 carotts
    200 gr celery
    350 gr. chiken meat chopped
    1 liter of chicken stock
    1 tablespoon of finely chopped parsley
    2 tbl. spoons of dry sherry
    4 rashers of bacon
    salt-pepper-a little olive oil
    Procedure:
    In a big pot sauté the diced onion in 2-3 tbl. Spoons of oil until it lightly browns. Add the coarsely chopped vegetables, stirring well and sauté them lightly.
    Add the finely chopped meat, chicken stock and the parsley. Once it boils, lower heat and let soup simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in sherry and salt-pepper. Sauté four rashers of bacon in a frying pan in oil until it is browned.
    Strain it on kitchen paper towel. Serve the soup adding the bacon in small pieces.

  11. When I am hungry for soup, I use Campbell vegetables or Clam Chowder. But I prefer homemade.
