I think it came from down south. They are really good, especially with a litle salt. YUM YUM YUM!!!
It’s definetly a southern thing and I love them. I’m not sure exactly where they came from. But I do have a family recipe going back to my great-great-great grandmother for fried green tomatoes.

History has it that in 1809 Thomas Jefferson grew tomatoes and loved cooking with them and history says that as most of our delicious southern food comes directly from the cooking that the slaves prepared, and green fried tomatoes was one of their favorites!!! Mine too!!!
