Question by rolling gaucho: Pasta with sauce and pasta with no sauce.. Can I eat them when I’m on a diet?

pasta is VERY good for you but to not gain weight only eat one serving size

  1. The thing about pasta is we usually eat giant servings of it. It’s easy to just keep eating and eating!

    Small servings of pasta are fine. Even better if you add plenty of veggies to your pasta dish. Most jarred tomato-based pasta sauce is reasonably low in calories and fat, so is fine to eat. Cream sauces are not. All restaurant pasta sauces tend to have a lot of oil in them, so they are high in calories and fat (even many restaurant tomato sauces).

    Try some of the pastas with added fiber and protein. They are better if you are on a diet. My favorite is Barilla Plus, in the yellow box. It’s almost identical to regular pasta but much better for you nutritionally, and is more filling when you are on a diet.

  3. Try whole wheat pasta, it’s better for you. I also use the Paul Newman tomato & basil sauce because it’s low calorie and has no corn syrup.
