Question by Shayna: Have you ever shopped at a farmer’s market?
I just went to one today and they have the best fresh produce that I’ve ever had. The cherry tomatoes were so sweet and the watermelons were very red and juicy. Do farmer’s markets generally have better produce that grocery stores? Or did I just get lucky with this one?

  2. Awesome job Penny! I personally believe dwarves are the wave of the future because they are convenient, easy to move around [in a 5 gallon pot], and we are now getting bigger fruit on a better-producing plants as breeding gurus cross in these better traits ever-making these varieties taste better, grow better and bigger, and resist diseases better; making the job of the purchaser as easy as it gets and they get the biggest BANG! for their buck.

  3. Thanks so much for the kind words, TJV….we’ll work hard to live up to it.

  5. Yes,I have been to a Farmer’s market.Their produce are much fresher because they come straight from the farm.I wouldn’t say it’s better,I’d just say it’s fresher. You’d usually find a Farmer’s maret in a small town or something like that.

  6. Yes

Farmer’s Markets generally have home grown/native produce. In my opinion; They are the freshest and tastiest fruits and vegetables you can buy.

You made me drool thinking about that watermelon lol

  7. It’s my thinking that the foods at most farmer’s markets are “farm fresh” and have been naturally ripened instead of the fruits and vegetables found in most supermarkets that are picked unripe and artificially ripened. I shop farmer’s markets for that reason.

  8. they usually grown organically meaning they don’t put pesticide while they were growing them thus they have more flavor and juicier. i think they are also small businesses so if we buy more from them we are helping them.

    happy eating.
