Question by FatimaBoo♥: How do I make a homemade salad flavorful?
I’m going on an all salad, salmon, and fruit diet. I don’t want to eat just a plain salad with lettuce and spinach. So how can I make a salad really good with lots of flavor? (:

  1. salad, try different greens, you can use romaine lettuce, butter lettuce, spinach, arugula, endive, frisee, watercress, radicchio, and many more, add tomatoes, onion, olives, capers, avocado, cucumber, peppers, add cheeses, parm, mozzarella, provolone, cheddar, white cheddar, blue cheese, feta, add fruit, apples, berries, pears, nuts, almonds, walnuts, candied walnuts, pecans, cashews, make your own vinaigrette, all u need is a vinegar or an acid and oil, u can use white vinegar, white balsamic, balsamic, champagne, raspberry vinegar, or lemon juice, lime juice, orange, grapefruit, or a mix of all juices of a citrus vinaigrette. just pour vinegar or juice in a bowl, season with salt and pepper then slowly whisk in your oil, u can use, canola, vegetable, peanut, sesame, olive, whatever flavor you want. it all depends on what you want and what you put in your salad.

    if u want u can add ur salmon to this, u can shred it up and mix it in or have it on the side,

  2. Make your own dressings.

    Raspberry dressing:
    Crush 8 fresh raspberries and place in small jar with 1 cup vinegar. Let sit for 3 to 5 days and drain. Toss what is left of the raspberries.
    Use a 1 to 2 ratio of raspberry vinegar to canola or olive oil. These oils are good for you so don’t worry about the calories.
    You can add dried basil or italian herbs and 1 tsp sugar and shake.

    Assemble your greens, onion, radish, celery, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, tomato, black olives, pecans
    or any veggie or fruit you like.

    My favorite salad:
    cucumber, tomato, black olives, green and red peppers with a vinaigrette.

    Fruit salad
    fresh pineapple, cantaloupe, orange (squeeze the juice over the other fruit), grapes, strawberries, blueberries or any other fresh fruit you like. I also use some grated orange peel for more intense flavor. You can use lemon and lime also.

    Vary the greens you use. Radicchio, romaine or some red lettuce is good as well as ice burg.
