Question by ST: What fish should I try for this recipe?
It’s called Grilled Salmon with Citrus Tomato Salsa. The recipe calls for salmon, and I tried it with it last time and I thought the salmon was too over powering for the salsa flavor. It includes tomato, orange, green onion, cilantro, jalapeno pepper. And you can really taste the cilantro in it. I was thinking a white fish would be good. What one would you recommend? Thanks.

halibut or sole. both are very mild white fish and would not be overpowered or overpower the salsa

  2. Eso no es gazpacho!!!!!. Es mucho mas simple. Y se hace en segundos. Las proporciones son erroneas. Lo digo por q soy de la tierra del gazpacho. Y aki bebemos to el dia gazpacho.

  8. If you char the skin you can peel it easy as well plus it gives a really nice smokey flavour. I always do with soup.
And the tomato thing – YES. I hate supermarket ones, nasty and bitty. My grandma grows them and gave me a small tree two years ago. NOW WHO HAS THE BEST TOMATOES?!

  9. There are different ways to make things, and everyone has different preferences. There’s not only one ‘right’ way to do this.

  10. Crap. I meant to vote you up and I accidently hit the down. I’m a klutz. Is there a way to undo votes? Lol.

  11. Worchestire sauce. You can find it in supermarkets & grocery stores. One of the most famous brand is Lea & Perrin’s Worchestire sauce. It’s tangy.

  12. 2:30 – Some wishtesisor shyre sauce? what the ### is that? is it soy-sauce?

  16. Tried this recipe tonight. It was…. AMAZING!!! So tasty. I couldn’t wait for it to chill another 2 hours. Seasoning, just eyeballing it, was perfect!! Soooo GOOD!! Do you have any more vegetarian/raw vegan recipes you can share?! Thank so much!

  19. Did you really like it?. I think most of them are just emetic.Nothing to do with homemade gazpacho.!!! If you make your own gazpacho you´ll find another world of flavours , that´s for sure ! But if if you don´t dare , or u just can´t do it for any reason , try “Santa Teresa ” , or “Arteoliva” (both of them are a little bit …..expensive).I guess you don´t understand spanish so type -without quotes- “gazpacho recipe.-vegetarian by thebluekitchen. It´s almost perfect.Add bread &you get it !

  23. Aww..

Does Chef John have any vegetarian recipes? How important is the sauce?

  24. No! Never boil Gazpacho!!

  25. Bring it to a quick 5 second boil then it’s perfect!!!

  26. I like cod or halibut. For a less expensive option, go with tilapia.

  27. I’d probably go for red snapper.

  28. Mahi-Mahi, Hallibut or the less expensive Talipia would work well

  29. have made a similar dish and used Tilapia in the dish and it worked well as i hate the fishy smell of fish and tilapia has not go the smell when cooking
    … hope you enjoy !!!

  30. i would say cod
