Question by ♪Jackie Blue♪: Will Bisquick baking mix be ok to use to whem making fried green tomatoes?
I don’t have any cornmeal or bread crumbs only flour, but want to use more than just flour. Should I mix Bisquick with the flour, or just use the Bisquick? I plan to coat the tomatoes in an egg/milk mixture then coat in flour/mix.I have heard that cracker crumbs are good too. If you have any other suggestions I will appreciate it.

Sure just dip the GT in milk with an egg beaten, to the Bisquick add some seasonings, salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder even a touch cayenne if you like, dip the slices of tomato in the wet, then dry and repeat this until all are done, I like to fry mine in the traditional southern way in pure lard, but veg oil is find, do them in stages and keep warm, I also add a bit of cornmeal for a crunchy texture to the flour mix.
