Question by sued92951: Why are my tomatoes black on the bottom?
I am growing tomatoes in the upside down planter called the topsy turvy? I have lots of great looking tomatoes growing but they are turning black on the bottom before they have a chance to turn red. The plant leaves are kinda curled too, and now some leaves are yellowing. I have been spraying with a light dishsoapy water solution for bugs.

This may be blossom-end rot. I have fortunately never experienced it with my tomatoes, but I have heard of it. Apparently it is a water/calciuim issue and can be caused by poor soil.
