    8. The traditional title for the boss in a commercial kitchen is the chef de cuisine. Under him/her will be the second in command, the sous chef (literally “under chef”), chefs de partie each responsible for one particular area, and at the bottom of the pecking order, commis chefs (who usually get landed with the basic stuff such as chopping vegetables).
