Question by Christina Lumi: Can rabbits and hamsters eat dried tomatoes and apricots?
I was just cleaning oh my fridge when I saw two bags of sundries tomatoes and apricots. Although I’m pretty sure rabbits and hamster me can eat them, Injut want to make sure.

The tomatoes probably will make them sick; the apricots might be okay if they’ll eat them. I suggest you don’t feed them the dried tomatoes though. You’d do better to feed them grass clippings than dried tomatoes. They are too acidic, for sure.

  3. Rabbits have extremely sensitive digestive tracts, so you have to introduce anything new into their diet very slowly (like a teaspoon size portion in one day and tiny increases from there). The bacteria in their gut that makes their digestion work properly must adjust to any new food items. If you don’t do this, the rabbit can develop enteritis (inflammation of the digestive tract) and die overnight. The safest route to take is to stick to hay and pellets.

  4. NO! It will probably make a hamster sick. If you gave your hamster that it will probably give your hamster something that is known as “wet tail’ something that is like diarrhea. I would not give it to a hamster!
