It should have brought some flower… Maybe it needs more light. When you see a flower, try to pollinate it. Once I had a tomato plant whit lots of flowers, but no fruit, because there was no one to pollinate it. A small brush will do. If you have more than one plant, then you should cross pollinate them, there is a better chance for tomatoes :)

  1. Once the plant starts to bloom, you will see fruits developing after the flowers fade. They will appear right in the calyx where the petals grew. If it is very hot, you may not get any fruit to set, unless you have heat-tolerant varieties. If it’s too hot now, just take care of the plants, and when the temps moderate, they should start to set fruit. It takes varying amounts of time for the fruits to mature, depending on the size.

  2. Growing tomato plants for years. You should plant it in adquate sunlight. Depenging on the plant each one matures differently. If your plant is 2 months old it should have grown like a weed and be about 2 or 3 feet high by now. Flowers the buds may have been eaten by bugs or little deer. Remember to stake your plant and tie it up so it does not droop over. Cross polinating has no effect on a tomato plant.

  3. What zone do you live in? If you live in a lower zone, you may not see tomatoes until the middle or end of August.

What variety or varieties did you plant? Tomatoes mature anywhere from 45 to 90 days, depending on the variety. So if you have a slower-maturing variety that could also explain why you haven’t seen any flowers yet.

What’s your climate like this year? Is it cooler than normal? Tomatoes are originally from a tropical climate, and like hot, humid weather. So if they aren’t getting enough heat or humidity, then this could also slow the maturation of your tomatoes.

Where did you plant them? Are they getting enough sun? Tomatoes need full sun for at least half the day.

How often are you watering? Tomatoes need to be watered every day. The best time to water is in the early morning or late afternoon.

Did you fertilize? Tomatoes take so much out of the soil, that its helpful if you fertilize once at the time of planting, and once more halfway through the growing season.

What kind of soil do you have? Tomatoes will not grow well in sandy or poor soil. They like a rich loam best, and will tolerate heavy or clay soil. They also prefer slightly acidic soil.

    Hope this all helps.

  4. the answer about doing your own pollination is good. we have had real problems with lack of bees here in Petaluma Calif for our fruit and veggies. hang in there. others in our Yahoo group PlantSwap have had same problems.
