Question by singingntherain: When is it to late to transplant a tomato plant?
I just transplanted a tomato plant because it was being overwhelmed by the tomato plant next to it and about to die. It was in the ground about two months after I did the transplant. It looks like it is about ready to die, but it kind of looked like that before. Anything I can do to see if I can revive it?

  1. we were told to remove our tomato garden from our back yard because it was
against city code to grow them. lol….

  2. tomatoes plants need very rich soil, good drainage, no water to the leaves,
no water against the main trunk. Water, only in the morning early, never
water from10am till 17 hundred afternoon.

  3. your best bet is to give it a dose of plant food mixed with water then cross your fingers. Keep watering it the same way you do the rest of your plants. It aught to revive itself soon.

  4. As long as the plant isn’t producing fruit you’re alright. When you transplant bury the plant a little deeper, half inch to an inch, deeper or mound a little more dirt on it to get a fresh root system to start forming in case there were too many problems with the old set from crowding. Keep the plant watered really good for a few days and use some plant food…like miracle grow. Keep shaded for about 24 hours and it should be good.
