White sauce. White sauces are generally made from cheeses, dairy, flours, or certain veggies (like cauliflower). Red sauces have tomato in them which is highly acidic. So, yes if you have problems with acid reflux, steer clear of the tomato bases.

Alfredo sauces (simple white cheese & dairy sauces) are better. You can also avoid the sauce altogether & try pesto (awesome with feta), olive oil & herbs, balsamic vinegar & herbs, or italian dressing. My mom used to make fettuccine with angle-cut carrots, celery, onion & polish sausage with grated parmesan.

  3. Heartburn is a vague complaint that might be caused by a half dozen organs, and only a doctor can figure out which one. Acid reflux is an event that might be caused by several things, such as taking antacids to relieve heartburn. More often it is caused by a hiatus hernia, which means the stomach has left its normal position and moved through the diaphragm, so that just breathing pumps stomach acids into the esophagus. That is more noticeable if you lie down after eating. A hernia of any kind indicates a deficiency of B vitamins. Your choice of this or that sauce or spice has nothing to do with it, although some foods are more noticeable when they are coming up again.
