  1. in Mississippi ,we grow tomatos in a row , rows are 4 feet apart and plants are 3 feet apart in the row, they need to be staked and tied regularly to the stake as they grow, or use a tomato cage, it also depends on weather you plant a vining or dwraf plant, dwraf can be planted in large pots, often called patio tomatos, peppers are grown bout the same way, but the rows can be closer together, cukes are best grown on a trestle, vines can grow as much as 30 feet, also it keeps the cukes free from grit and grime, they also can be bought in a dwarf type plants or seeds, 1 or 2 plants is enough for the average family, unless you are gonna make pickles, each one requires a different type of fertilizer, too much nitrogen on tomatos will make them go to vine and less fruit, cukes need plenty of water, as they are 90 % water, peppers and tomatos need bout the same amount of water, bout 1 inch per week, all 3 need to be planted where they will get plenty of sun shine, morning sun is best , because it will not dry the soil out as fast, 8 8 8 is a good all round fertilizer, also do not plant hot and sweet peppers too close together, they might inter polinate each other ,6 tomato and 6 pepper plants will provide plenty for fresh eating, if you gonna can or freeze tomatos or make pepper sauce more will be needed —- good luck

  2. this sounds crazy but a friend told me this and i tried it. when you did your hole for your vegies put some powdered milk into the hole just before putting in the plant or seed and cover with soil, water as usual and when your plants produce the fruit they will be very large. and you only have to do this once. the calcium works great and they need it too.

NOTE: I use a fence panel as a trellis it takes less space that way and no back breaking bending to pick. Just start them up the panel.
