I have everything to make chili but tomatoes, I don’t have anything to substitute either. Would garbanzo beans be good? I’ve never really even made chili before.

JUST TAKE OUT THE TOMATOES
You have chili beans…forget the tomatoes or use some tomato juice if you have. Some recipes are meat & beans, plus chili seasoning only.
to make good chili, you will need to go out and purchase a can of
tomato paste. I use it and it allows me to be able to make as much sauce as I want. The cost of a can of tomato paste is around 59 cents. Add about 3 cans of water, 2 pks. of spaghetti seasoning, 1/2 cup of red cooking wine, 1 tsp. oregano, 2tsp garlic powder. and 1 tsp sugar.
