Yes it works, but it needs to be thinned a little. It’s also sweeter than tomato sauce, so add salt as well as water.

  1. Yes it will work. You just need to add water to the paste to thin it out.

  2. just add water to it.

  3. Yes, heres how.

Tomato sauce: 2 cups = 3/4 cup tomato paste plus 1 cup water

  4. Add enough water til it looks like sauce to you. Do it all the time, if paste is on sale instead of sauce.

  5. Tomato paste will work better than tom sauce.

  6. Yes you can, and add about 1-2 cans (the empty paste can) of water. I would add to the Spaghetti Sauce, chopped fresh tomatoes and Italian Spices. If you don’t have a mixture of Italian spice pre mixed…Then use a about 1 tsp of Oregano, basil, garlic powder (granulated). (This depends on the amount of pasta sauce you are making too. You can always use less, and taste it as you go…you can’t take it out…..That should flavor the sauce, also, I always add a very light sprinkle of sugar to cut the acidity of the tomato. Just a little, less is more here. Too much and the sauce would just be sweet, and not taken well.
I have made that mistake before. Start with a pinch, then taste the difference the sugar makes. I always add a bit of Olive Oil to the sauce. If you don’t want to do that…toss the hot pasta after you drain it with just a bit of Olive Oil, this also keeps the pasta from sticking together, as well as a gentle rinse under cool tap water just after you drain it to stop the cooking process, and wash the excess starch off the pasta. Not enough to make the noodles cold. Just a gentle rinse, then toss with the Olive Oil.
    Enjoy…..your creation.

  7. Tomato paste is pretty strong. Dilute it with a can of diced tomatoes or tomato juice.

  8. Add some water to the tomato paste to thin it out, and then add some seasonings to make it work.
