Question by Surely Funke: What recipe can I make with these ingredients?
So I’ve got about 3 cups of tomato puree, 1/2 of an onion, and an opened can of pickled jalapeno peppers. What kind of recipe can I make with these ingredients before they go bad? Adding extra ingredients is okay.
Thanks Alifiqbal, I’ll make an onion-jalapeno-tomato cake.

Maybe you can make pizzas? Add some shredded cheese and whatever other ingredients you like to a pizza base along with the ingredients you’ve already got. Not sure if jalapeno peppers will go well on a pizza if you’ve got too much of it, but you can always try!

  28. boil some rice .add a little thyme and your ingredients to a pan and fry off…cook down untill thick ,add rice …maybe a touch of curry spice to lift ,..hope this helps enjoy ..

  29. dice the onion and add a few cloves of garlic. saute in a little olive oil til clear. add a 1/2 to 1 lb. of ground beef and brown, breaking it up. drain.
add tomato puree, a dash of red vinegar, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp italian seasoning blend, 1 tsp of oregano and a handful of parmesan cheese. simmer til heated. optional to add some diced jalapenos, but not too many. it would be way too much flavor

    serve over pasta.

canned jalapenos are like pickles. they last for frickin ever. just transfer them out of the metal can so that they don’t take on that gross, rusty flavor. then, you can use them as needed for all manor of things. like pizza, jalapeno burgers, diced over tacos, nachos, or just straight when you have the craving.

  30. heat 2 tbsp of oil in a skillet, saute 3 large cloves of garlic, then the onions.. you may want to add another half an onion to it.. then the pureed tomatoes.. basil.. jalapeno.. salt & pepper.. toss in some penne or spaghetti.. then grate some parmigiano.. you can add italian sausages or turkey sausages.. just remove them from their casing.
