Question by megaprosh: Do you think cabbage sautee’d in tomato juice would work?
I made vegetable cabbage roll and they were delicious, mostly because of the tomato juice with the cabbage. Do you think that would taste good in a stir fry? Cabbage in a healthy sautee of Tomato J?

Sure! Just realize tom jc won’t react like oil will, so you can’t exactly stir-fry, but more of “braise” the cabbage. But it ought to taste mighty fine!

I braise cabbage shredded in soy sauce start with a small amount of water and cover until limp and stir in soy sauce. No reason tomato juice would not work well . Maybe add a tsp of paste to concentrate flavour as well.
I do that al the time. Saute the cabbage & thin sliced sweet onion like Vidalia, Texas Sweet etc or a red onion, a clove of garlic or pinch of garlic powder in some olive oil and/or butter till just wilted, then add tomato juice, spoon of sugar, salt, pepper. Simmer on low with lid slightly off, till tender. A bullion cube of beef or chicken would give a nice flavor also.
