  1. It happens to be cold here in Alabama now, so that really looks good!
Especially since you actually start with real tomatoes and stuff! I usually
go to a can for tomato soup… You are precious Rachel!

  2. Love roasted veggies, and garlic. Really nice soup recipe. Thanks. You have
    such a great personality

  3. Thanks!! We often buy the stuff in a box, which is great too. But now that
I’ve made this, I don’t want any other! I wish tomatoes were still in
season now that it’s cool enough for soup (not that the hot weather usually
    stops me). :)

  4. Thanks! :) I love roasted veggies too! They’re my favorite way to eat them,
I think. I hope you make this soup… it was really good!

  5. Yikes

    tomato soup would be gross

    but olive oil yeah,

Just use olive oil and fresh (or powdered) garlic instead of tomato sauce
it’s actually a common kind of pizza (it’s called “white pizza”) here in Rochester.

  6. I would just use the olive oil. I make my pizzas like that b/c I can’t eat tomatoes. I sprinkle with garlic and oregano

  7. Yes, you can use olive oil. I wouln’t recommend making tomato sauce out of soup. If you have any fresh tomatos, just slice them and put them on the pizza. It tastes great, and it makes it authentic Italian pizza :]

  8. you can use some tomato soup and add some thyme and garlic to it. Maybe thicken it with a bit of corn starch or something. Good luck, hope the pizza tastes alright

  9. I don’t like tomato sauce too much. Once in a while, when I make scratch pizza, I use undiluted Mushroom soup as the base. Quite tasty really.

  10. My favorite way to make the pizza sauce is to take stewed tomatoes (has green pepper and onion); reduce it down, medium heat in sauce pan, so it is thick and spread over the pizza dough. I add spices, like italian spice, oregano, Nature’s Seasoning, sometimes Cajun spice, too.

If you already have the onions and green pepper, saute first, and then add to stewed tomatoes and then reduce it down.

  11. I used to get an AWESOME pizza at a local restaurant. There was no tomato sauce. They liberally covered the dough with olive oil, topped it with thinly sliced potatoes, then sprinkled with a bit more olive oil and dried rosemary. I’d never seen such a thing before, but an Italian co-worker had had it when he was a child and recommended it. It was delicious. (eat with a knife/fork)
