  1. Looks great. Also try it with some apple sauce and sugar. I always thought
that sweet and salt were the opposites.. but it could give some add or
    different flavor.

  2. im hooked…gotta sub!

  3. It’s very basic here in Holland. Brown beans with chopped salty pork and
applesauce and mayonnaise in winter.. or.. fried potatoes with mayonnaise
and a hamburger. You American seem to like ketchup. That’s what we find
less pleasant. We do like red curry instead.. mixed with mayo.

  4. Apple sauce, huh? Would’ve never had considered. Awesome, will try. Thnx. R.

    5 tb Butter

    4 tb Unbleached Flour
    4 c Milk

Melt the butter in a soup-pot. Add the onion and cook
over medium heat, stirring, until the onion is soft
but not browned. Sprinkle the flour over the butter
mixture and continue to cook for an additional 2
minutes. Slowly add the milk, bay leaf, sugar, and
salt and continue to cook and stir until slightly
thickened. Stir the baking soda into the tomatoes.
Add the tomatoes to the milk, and bring just to a
simmer. Remove from the heat and put through a
strainer. Taste and correct the seasoning. Reheat
    before serving.

  8. You can make an okay cream of tomato soup by using milk, 1/2 and 1/2 or cream instead of water when you use canned soup. It’s the only way my family will eat it!

Here’s a recipe that is very good:
