I just read somewhere on here that tomatoes can kill guinea pigs? I know they can cause mouth sores because of the acidity but I never heard that tomatoes can kill guinea pigs. I give my piggies tomatoes once a week as a treat because they love them. They have been eating tomatoes for almost four years. Should I stop feeding them tomatoes?

Tomatoes are one of my guineas favorite things, I’ve fed them cherry tomatoes a lot.
They’re not harmful to the guineas, so dont worry.

It’s only the stem and leaves that are dangerous, the actual tomato fruit is fine to feed.
